Operation Rice Bowl
Feb. 17 - April 4
As
part of our faith community's lenten observance, we will participate in
Catholic Relief Services' Operation Rice Bowl. For over 30 years,
Operation Rice Bowl has inspired Catholics in the United States to
pray, fast, learn, and give as we increase our understanding of our
global community throughout our lenten journey. Please be sure to
take home a Rice Bowl packet (they are in the vestibule) and follow
this simple yet powerful lenten practice. Visit orb.crs.org for

Stations of the Cross & Soup Supper
Friday 2/19, 2/26, 3/5, 3/12, 3/19 and 3/26, Newman Hall, 6:00 p.m.
The Stations of the Cross will be prayed in the church each Friday during Lent at the conclusion of the 5:30 p.m. Mass, and will be followed by a soup supper in Norton Hall. We ask that the money you would have spent for your Friday meal, instead be given to Operation Rice Bowl.

A Testimony from Haiti

Barbara
Wander, a member of Holy Spirit parish who was in Haiti during the
earthquake, will share her photos and stories concerning the
devastation. This event is a fundraiser to benefit the Little Sisters of St Therese’s Missions in Haiti.

Bonnie
Hardwick, Ph.D., former director of the Graduate Theological Union
Library and former Lecturer at the Franciscan School of Theology Bonnie
will offer a PowerPoint presentation which will explore the history and
iconography of Our Lady of Sorrows, from the medieval Pieta through the
New Mexican santos tradition. Included as well will be Our Lady of
Solitude and the revival of altars to La Dolorosa in Uruapan,
Michoachan.
