St. Mary Magdalen Dominican Parish

Eucharistic Ministry to the Homebound

Our parish has members whose health and mobility are compromised by various problems. Often, their families are unable to visit as often as they might like. Short, friendly visits, bringing the Eucharist and a "breath of fresh air" will gladden the hearts of those who can no longer pariticipate in parish and community activities.

Are you interested in sharing the warmth of your heart by visiting a homebound parishioner? Are you being called to help diminish the isolation and loneliness that can accompany frailness and illness in the elderly, the sick, and our shut-ins?

For more information or to get involved, contact Ellen Logue by email or at 510-526-6562. She and/or the parish staff can supply names and give a little background about the person's condition and needs so the visitor can be better prepared. A visit need not take much time, but can bring happiness to both pariticipants; bringing the Lord to the homebound members of our community also brings joy to those members.
