The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is an international Catholic organization of lay persons, founded in 1833 by Frederick Ozanam and his companions. In the spirit of justice and charity, its members seek to help those in need. Members offer one-on-one assistance at the local level. We visit people at home and in hospitals. We give money, food, and clothes to those in need. We reach out to the lonely and the alienated. We attempt to bring God closer to ourselves and those we serve. To provide temporal assistance, we depend on your generosity in forms of cash, food, clothing, and other material contributions. To provide spiritual assistance, we need more laborers in the field of person-to-person contact. Our parish and community have many members who need friendly visits and small favors. We ask you to consider reaching out to your neighbors in Christian love. The Society sponsors two annual "Bundle Sundays" when parishioners can take excess clothing and household goods (still in useable condition) to the truck in the parking lot. In 2008, the St. Vincent de Paul collection container will be here the weekends of April 12-13 and September 13-14.
